The starter kit is 25 RetURN.org ID labels and 25 matching cards for $50, shipping included. The label goes on the urn, the card goes to the family, so the ID and the instructions for switching it on travel together.

And every ID a family switches on earns you a free replacement. The ones that get used pay for themselves, so the only labels that ever cost you anything are the ones nobody uses.

What it costs you

The kit, and nothing else. There's no setup fee, no minimum, no contract and no annual cost.

You don't pay us when a family switches an ID on: the family pays for that. It's $19.99 if the ID is already on the urn, or $29.99 if they want one mailed to them with activation included.

About the labels

• 2 inches by 0.75 inches, sized to sit on the base or shoulder of an urn without dominating it
• Anodized aluminum, with the image sealed beneath the surface rather than printed on top, so it can't scuff or fade off. Rated for twenty years and more of outdoor readability
• Permanent adhesive that bonds to metal, ceramic, wood and plastic, flat or contoured, and cures firmly within 48 hours of application
• Applied to an urn you already have, or to one you supply
